That Bar Exam Month

Today was the last day of the bar exams and I’m so thankful it’s all over. Haha I’m just a medical junior intern who’s stressed by the influx of people all over the campus + church.

Earlier, seeing their happy faces, hearing the chants of fraternities, I realized it must be pretty cool to be a lawyer. Never had I eaten at Chowking with a testosterone-filled air. They all had their semi-PAs: somebody (may be a loved one, a fraternity, or family) to order their lunch and to give them a boost for the afternoon exam. Then my mom (to be read as my #1 fan), “Kami! Andun kami. Kami oorder sayo. Iintayin ka namin diyan sa labas ng gate.” I was teary-eyed. I haven’t even graduated yet, with no hospital for internship yet, and here’s my mom, optimistic as ever, being a true (best) friend, says that she’ll be there for me when the time comes. Ang sarap lang pakinggan. /wipes tears

Over the month, I’ve seen how fraternities-turned-families and families boosted them. The ? 1 hour lunch break turned into a sige-magkwento-ka-habang-kumakain-ilabas-mo-lahat-para-ready-ka-uli-later time. And at 5pm, streamers were out, I could hear their chants. It was cool. Like being a part of a mafia. and before they leave, there would always be photo-ops (kahit na ang background ay tricycle o carinderia).  I loved how they greeted the examinees with flowers and gave them *big* hugs — parang bagong pasa na yung feeling, a very heartwarming scene. But here’s the winner:

Father (while holding the camera): “O, kayo naman. Dali. Kasi kapag attorney na ang anak ko, may bayad na ang picture!”

Na-excite tuloy ako mag-board exams.
